Language Gym (LG) is a private classroom session focusing on the technical aspects of language and communication skills based around a topic of the clients・choice. Additionally, the session offers clients learning opportunities (and often times coping mechanisms) to develop their skills for adjusting to American culture and their new surroundings. All lessons are private and tailored to suit our clients・lifestyle and level of English. Through conversation, our teachers work with clients in speaking and listening and learning correct sentence structures, pronunciation, methods of communication, and more.

Specialized Language Gym (SLG) is a ten-hour program private lesson customized to match clients' educational needs. With an experienced professional teacher, they establish and meet their learning objectives. Our professional teacher evaluate clients' competency and then create a syllabus and lesson plan designed specifically for them. Subjects include, but are not limited to:

●　Conversation / Communication and Pronunciation / Intonation Class

Many ESL students or non-native English speakers complain that they understand English (grammar), but are not confident enough to jump in a conversation. These are reasons for this including:

1.　ESL students or non-native English speakers are trying to translate from their native language into English.

2.　ESL students or non-native English speakers are looking for a big and specific word, rather than using simple language to describe what they like to describe.

3.　There are not enough conversation opportunities in or outside of the class at their ESL school.

The strategy of improving speaking skills is to speak, converse, and talk as much as you can! A professional teacher provides you a program with the most effective curriculum for your level.

●　TOEFL / TOEIC Class

Our PRIVATE TOEFL / TOEIC Program is designed for all international students who want to learn skills and tips to help them obtain their best possible score on their TOEFL / TOEIC exam. Students will practice with experienced professional TOEFL / TOEIC teachers to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

●　Professional Writing Class

Written communication is especially important at work. Business writing often follows specific expectations. There are a wide range of standard phrases that are expected in business English that are generally not used in everyday English.

Examples of Common Phrases for Business Letters:
a. I am writing in reference to…
b. I would just like to confirm the main points we discussed…
c. If I can be of more help, please feel free to contact me at…
d. I hope you have had a chance to look over the materials we sent., etc.

LG & SLG Lesson Types

1) Cost for type B lesson includes both adult and child under three.
2) Group lessons are available for three or more people upon request. Please call for further information.

Policy (application & cancellation)
Applications and any changes made to your schedule should be submitted to Boston Life at least three days in advance. Please note that cancellations made within two days or less of the lesson are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% / hour per session.
