Take Private English as a Daily Language to improve your conversational English!
English as a Daily Language (EDL) is an out-of-classroom session with our experienced bilingual and
bicultural advisors who are proficient in teaching conversational English, US culture, and methods of
communication.
Our Cultural Advisors participate with clients in various activities, helping them improve their English and
teaching them skills necessary for successful communication with English speakers. Our clientsE
English skills improve as well as their understanding of American culture, which our clients have told us
has led to them feeling more confident and better adjusted to life in the Unites States.
Most of our cultural advisors have experience in teaching English as a Second Language, and they all
have an understanding of cultural differences and are sensitive to clientsEneeds.

EDL services are available at any time* and place convenient to you. Lesson
plans are tailored to suit your lifestyle, priorities and proficiency in
English as well as to meet your preferences in activities and conversational
topics.

per hour (per person, type C)

You can choose from a list of courses available at BOSTON Life or create your
own course by selecting various daily activities you want to engage in with
your Cultural Advisor. Course examples are listed below:
Course Examples:
English lessons in your home Course: These private, completely personalized
lessons are designed for the busy working person, or a stay-at-home parent (the client's children may also
participate in the lesson), who wishes to improve their English but finds it difficult to travel to
the Boston Life Office. Whether it is at a local cafe or in the comfort of your home, an experienced
Boston Life Instructor will meet you at a location and at a time that is most convenient for you.
The goal of these lessons is to help you improve your English while seamlessly integrating into
your busy lifestyle. American business vocabulary as well as business etiquette can be emphasized.
City Life and English Lesson Course:These private, completely personalized lessons are
designed to help you quickly adjust to living in Boston by learning and practicing English while
acquiring the skills necessary to facilitate everyday life. Whether opening up a bank account, or
learning to order fresh meat at a supermarket, an experienced Boston Life Instructor will assist
you in these daily activities.
LESSONS ARE DESIGNED TO FIT THE CLIENT'S SCHEDULE
We are able to conduct meetings at a location that is convenient to you. These
lessons are offered 7 days a week. It is possible to schedule a meeting early
in the morning as well as after work hours.
Create "Your Own Course" Examples:
BOSTON Life suggests you create "your own courses" for an
exclusive curriculum with your experienced Boston Life Instructor.
The courses may include any combination of services listed below and combine with your
special objectives.
- Daily Life Support: BOSTON Life will assist you with language and the processes
of finding an apartment/school, opening a bank account, purchasing a car, using
public transportation, making a claim for unsatisfactory services and any other
activities in your daily life.
- Shopping: You will learn conversational English as well as the American systems
and common practices regarding shopping by visiting supermarkets, malls, yard
sales and more with your advisor.
- Multi-Cultural Experience: You will be introduced to various cultural aspects
of the Greater Boston area through participating in multicultural events, visiting
ethnic stores and discussions with your advisor.
- Academic: Academic Courses focus on improving academic skills, such as writing
and editing, debate, presentation and interviewing skills.
- Other: EDL service offers you customized sessions to reflect your own preferences
of activities.
BOSTON Life offers three EDL sessions categorized by different intensity.
- Category 1: 2-hour lesson once a week (total 8 hours a month)
- Category 2: 2-hour lesson twice a week (total 16 hours a month)
- Category 3: 2-hour lesson three times a week (total 24 hours a month)
EDL services are available during our regular business hours.
Each regular session for EDL takes a minimum of two hours (Some activities or
sessions for three or more hours are available upon request).
Other service types with more or less intensive lessons are available for
EDL.
- Type A: Private Lesson (adult or child aged three or over)
- Type B: Semi-Private Lesson (adult and child aged under three)
- Type C: Semi-Private Lesson (two adults or adult with child aged three and
over)
1) Cost for type B lesson includes both adult and child under three.
2) Group lessons are available for three or more people upon request.
Cancellation and any changes made should be submitted to BOSTON Life at least
four days in advance. Please note that cancellation or any cahnges made within
24 hours of the class is subject to a cancellation fee of 100% per session.
