Community Classroom Programs

Our Community Classroom Programs offer out-of-classroom sessions in which students can experience language, communication, and culture in real life settings under the guidance of our experienced teachers.Students and teachers participate together in various activities, through which students improve their language and communication skills and gain a deeper understanding of American culture.

Our Community Classroom Programs include the EDL (English as a Daily Language) and CE (Cooking in English) programs.

EDL~ English as a Daily Language Program

Would you prefer a private, personalized English class at a location of your choice? You can meet a Boston Life teacher at your own home, in a local caf? or any other place convenient for you through our EDL (English as a Daily Language) program. Whether you are a busy professional or a stay-at-home parent who prefers not to travel to the Boston Life office, a Boston Life EDL instructor can meet you at the location of your choice. EDL programs are available mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends and will be tailored to suit your lifestyle, your personal preferences, and your English level.

This program consists of private, completely personalized lessons designed to help you quickly adjust to living in the US by learning and practicing English while acquiring the skills necessary to facilitate everyday life. Whether opening up a bank account, or learning to order fresh meat at a supermarket, an experienced Boston Life instructor will assist you in these daily activities. Past activities have related to general life skills (like those listed above), multicultural skills (participating in multicultural events and visiting ethnic stores), and academic support (including writing and editing, debate, presentation, meeting, and interviewing skills related to your work and/or school.) There is a maximum of two students for this class.

EDL Commuting Costs: $15.00/lesson or more depending on lesson location
EDL Activity Fees: Cost per lesson for teacher’s activity fee (I.e. museum entrance fee, transportation fee during the activity, etc.)




Cooking in English Program


This program is an intimately sized class where clients learn cooking, English conversation, and international food culture. Students will make friends and learn about food language and American customs while speaking English in a natural setting. Past menus have included: New England Cuisine, Greek, Spanish, Italian, Southern Cooking, Picnic Favorites, and many more! There is a maximum of six students for this class.
