Conversation Practice Program (LG; Language Gym)

This program is a private classroom session focusing on the technical aspects of language and communication skills based on topics of the clientsf choice. Additionally, the session offers clients learning opportunities (and often times coping mechanisms) to develop their skills for adjusting to American culture and their new surroundings. All lessons are either private or semi-private (classes with two students) and tailored to suit our clientsf lifestyle and level of English. Through conversation, our instructors work with clients in speaking and listening and learning correct sentence structures, pronunciation, methods of communication, American culture and more.

Conversation Practice in Person and Over the Phone Program (LG; Language Gym)

This program is designed to improve studentsf conversation skills both in person and over the phone. In addition to the coursework of the private conversation practice program, the student will receive a 10-15 minute phone conversation with an instructor. The focus will be based around the development of phone etiquette. Phone sessions offer students the ability to evaluate speech patterns when physical contact is not possible. An evaluation of the studentfs phone speaking level will also be provided. Students will learn how to convey their point and correspond with businesses, schools, and various customer service agents. The goal of this program is to increase a studentfs comfort level when contacting officials and administrations.

Intensive Specialized Program (SLG; Specialized Language Gym)

This program is a structured program private lesson customized to match clientsf educational needs. With an experienced instructor, they establish and meet their learning objectives. Our instructors evaluate clientsf English competency and then create a lesson plan designed specifically for their student's needs. Topics include, but are not limited to: speaking, writing, grammar, listening, reading, pronunciation, business, and public presentations.

Professional/Academic Writing and Grammar Program

Written communication is especially important at work/school. Business/academic writing often follows specific expectations. There are a wide range of standard phrases that are expected in business writing and a requirement in description of appropriate styles and conventions for academic writing that are generally not used in everyday English. This program is designed to meet studentsf professional and educational needs. In a class, stunts read articles and references critically, learn how to extract examples from secondary research, determine what could be conclusions and what would be suggestions based on the conclusions.

Improve Public Speaking/Meetings and Presentations Program

This program is designed for the intermediate and advanced level non-native speaker. Classes consist of voice and speech warm-ups and exercises to help students begin to feel comfortable expressing themselves in English in social or group settings. By the conclusion of this course, students will be able to present short impromptu, demonstration, and informative speeches, as well as engage in challenging debates and dramatic readings. This class is for anyone who wants to feel more comfortable expressing their ideas clearly in the work place, school, social settings, or at home.

Improve Conversation / Vocabulary / Expression skills program
Many ESL students or non-native English speakers complain that they understand English (grammar), but are not confident enough to jump in a conversation. Reasons for this include, but aren't limited to:

  • ESL students or non-native English speakers are trying to translate from their native language into English.

  • ESL students or non-native English speakers are looking for a big and specific word, rather than using simple language to describe what they like to describe.

  • There are not enough conversation opportunities in or outside of the class at their ESL school.
  • The strategy of improving speaking skills is to speak, converse, and talk as much as you can! Our professional instructors provide you a program with the most effective curriculum for your level. Our instructors offer advice in not only developing vocabulary to prevent translating word for word and understanding sentences as a whole, but also offer advice on where to find outside of the classroom conversation practice and how to approach it.
